The Simple Mill

The Simple Mill (individual) in Tasmanian Oak and with a ceramic CrushGrind mechanism by South Australian artist Huw McConachy. 

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Huw loves interacting with people, different media and new materials to create beautiful and unique furniture. He enjoys working with locally sourced, sustainable products and draws influence from the experiences and environment surrounding him.

Huw commenced his furniture design studies at Marleston TAFE in 2005 under the watchful eye of Ken Pfitzner. Following the completion of his studies Huw worked as a cabinet maker specialising in commercial and architectural residential projects. During this time he also enjoyed the opportunities to undertake one-off commissions.

Huw’s passion for design led to an Associate Position at the Jam Factory in 2014. This direction has given Huw the freedom to create, explore and discover.

After a stint in Singapore, Huw is now based in Port Elliot at Factory 9, where he is focussed on expanding his product range along with one-off commissions, specialising in tables and chairs.
