Colour Pop Enamel Earrings with Sue Garrard | SEPPELTSFIELD

Workshops at Seppeltsfield Estate

Create a unique pair of colourful enamelled earrings with jeweller and multi-disciplinary artist Sue Garrard. Participants will select from a variety of pre-cut reclaimed aluminium pieces to make up their own design, create joining holes and enamel their pieces with low-temperature resin-based enamel powder for a customised colour (or colour combination) of their choice. Enamelled pieces will be fired in small kilns run on tea-light power; a low-temperature, eco-friendly and compact process for firing enamel projects.

Once enamelled pieces are complete, participants will learn how to assemble their earrings with sterling silver jump rings and earring hooks; with the option to add small brass embellishments if desired.

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners. All required tools and materials will be supplied, including pre-cut pieces of reclaimed aluminium, a range of coloured enamel powders, brass embellishments and sterling silver jump-rings and hooks. Participants will complete the workshop with a customised pair of colourful earrings in a configuration of their own design.

(Please note this is a 'slow-making' style workshop due to the time involved in kiln-firing and other processes which will require a steady hand and a little patience!)

Sue Garrard

Sue Garrard is a Barrossa-based artist working in the areas of jewellery, print-making and installation. Much of her arts practice focuses on the use of recycled and reclaimed materials.
