Ceramic Bucket

Ceramic Bucket

Ceramic Bucket in ceramic by South Australian artist Em Frank.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Em Frank works across ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Her practice is driven by material exploration and a long-standing preoccupation with discarded and repurposed objects. A decade of working in remote First Nations art centres has shaped her approach to making, deepening her interest in collaborative processes and creative exchange.

Em is drawn to artmaking for its generative and disruptive possibilities, where ideas and materials can meet in expansive ways. She is particularly interested in the conversations that happen between objects. The way materials carry histories, gestures, and modes of being in the world, and how these relationships can be activated through making and assemblage.

Based in Tarntanya/Adelaide, Em is a studio tenant in the Jam Factory Ceramics Studio and works as a technician and facilitator for Ku Arts, Iwiri Arts, and Tjanpi Desert Weavers.
